Jamshedpur: The message rang loud and clear when Tagore Society Honorary General Secretary Ashis Chowdhury observed, It is our prime responsibility to preserve and propagate our legacy. It therefore becomes all the more important to organize such programs for, if we fail to inculcate the essence and nuances of Rabindra Sangeet among the younger generation, they may go astray.

Though Ashis Chowdhurys observation came at the concluding moments of an ecstatic musical journey over three days of Rabindra Sangeet Festival at the Rabindra Bhawan, his words definitely held true for the Doyen of Bengali creativity gave new dimensions to thought processes that learnt to see pain, joy, love and Divinity in a new light. Rabindranaths lyrical compositions too belong to this genre.

Through these three days, musical stargazers had their fill as specialists of Rabindra Sangeet treated them to various emotional and sentimental flavors of nature and human contentment. The third days menu was not different either as artistes left their personal, inimitable styles of telling the Poets language of the heart, mind and soul.

The final evenings journey commenced with Jamshedpurs popular Rabindra Sangeet exponent Annindita Gupta whose songs ranging from odes to God and love to patriotic compositions of Rabindranath once again proved her caliber as the appreciative audience almost forgot to stop clapping.

Manoj Murali Nair who has etched a name for himself in the hearts of Rabindra Sangeet lovers once again proved why he has endeared himself to the listeners of quality music. His renditions of intricate lyrical notes came easily and cast a spell over an already enchanted audience.

Kolkatas Vidipta Chakraborty expressed her grip over the Kobi Gurus music as she presented a choice of songs from her rich treasure-trove. Saheb Chattopadhyay too had a mesmerizing effect on the audience.

The grand finale to the Festival came from internationally renowned Rabindra Sangeet exponent from Bangladesh, Laiza Ahmad Liza. Her renditions were the final droplets of old wine from the richest vineyard. Her pronunciation, vocal expressions and rich, tonal texture embodied Rabindranaths feelings in the compositions that Liza rendered. She left a memorable impact in the minds of the lucky audience who had been on a pleasant and soul stirring sojourn of three days of evergreen Rabindra Sangeet wonders.
