Iran Hits Haifa Refinery in Retaliation for Strikes on Energy Hubs

Tehran (IANS): Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) struck an oil refinery in Haifa, Israel, on Saturday night. According to a statement on Sepah News, the IRGC launched Kheibarshekan missiles at the facility. This move directly retaliates against US-Israeli strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure.

Energy Infrastructure Under Attack

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company confirmed that US-Israeli attacks hit several domestic sites on Saturday.

  • Oil Depots Struck: Missiles hit depots in the Tehran and Alborz provinces, sparking massive fires.

  • Emergency Response: Firefighting teams currently work to contain the blazes as heavy explosions rock the Iranian capital.

Escalating Regional Conflict

These strikes follow the February 28 joint attacks by Israel and the United States. Those initial strikes targeted Tehran and multiple cities, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his family members, and high-ranking military commanders. Iran continues to respond with waves of missile and drone strikes against Israel and US bases across the Middle East.

Political Defiance

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, accused the US and Israel of trying to “divide the nation.” He urged US President Donald Trump to admit he was “deceived by Israel.” Larijani warned that the Iranian people will not let these actions go unpunished.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi remains in constant contact with Saudi officials. Araghchi stated that Saudi Arabia has guaranteed it will not allow its territory or airspace for operations against Iran.
