IPS Tadasha Mishra Appointed Jharkhand’s First Woman DGP

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government appointed senior IPS officer Tadasha Mishra as the Director General of Police (DGP) of the state on Tuesday. A 1994-batch officer, Mishra had been discharging the responsibilities of Acting DGP, and her appointment has now been formally confirmed.

The Home Department issued a notification stating that Mishra has been appointed as Director General and Inspector General of Police (HoAF). The appointment has been made in accordance with the amended Jharkhand Police Chief Selection and Appointment Rules, 2025, recently notified by the state government.

During her tenure as Acting DGP, Mishra oversaw key policing priorities, including law and order management, internal security preparedness, and coordination with district police units.

Her elevation is expected to bring continuity in leadership at a time when the state police is focusing on crime control, strengthening investigation standards, and enhancing public safety mechanisms. A seasoned officer with extensive administrative and field experience, Tadasha Mishra has held several important postings in the state police establishment.

Her confirmation as DGP is seen as a move aimed at ensuring stable and professional leadership at the helm of Jharkhand Police. The government notification takes immediate effect.
