Police Recover Large Cache of Arms in Anti-Naxal Operation

Giridih: In a joint operation with the CRPF, Giridih Police recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and prohibited materials hidden by Naxals in the Parasnath hill area.

Acting on specific intelligence, Superintendent of Police Bimal Kumar (IPS) and Commandant Sunil Dutt Tripathi of CRPF 154 Battalion planned a coordinated anti-Naxal operation.

The joint team, led by Additional SP (Operations) Surjeet Kumar, along with senior CRPF officers, conducted the search near Bhalki hill close to Kanedih under Khukhra police station limits. With the assistance of the BDDS team, security forces unearthed weapons concealed in underground pits.

The recovered items included 11 .303 bolt-action rifles, nine .22 rifles, six grenades, one SLR grenade projector, ammunition boxes, 30 charger clips, and electric copper wire bundles. All recovered materials have been seized following due legal procedure. Police said further investigation and legal action are underway. The operation was carried out by a joint team of Giridih district police and F/154 Battalion CRPF.
