Jamshedpur, July 5: An institution’s progress and growth are often driven by the quality of its leadership. In school life, the goal is to nurture leaders through responsibilities and powers conferred during an investiture ceremony. Loyola School Telco marked the beginning of the new session by inducting its new council members. The selection process for the student council is extensive, starting with self-nominations where students respond to key questions on leadership and responsibility.
The ceremony was administered by School Principal Charanjeet Ohson, School Administrator Father Gerry, School Counselor Father Pius, Coordinators Reshma Rodrigues and Zeenat Maria Sundi, Pre-Primary Moderator Colleen Xavier, along with faculty members and students.
The ceremony began with the marching of the leaders holding the school flag, Captains, Vice-Captains, Councilors from classes 6-9, and Beadles from classes 1-5. The elected leaders were conferred with badges and sashes by Father Gerry, Father Pius, the Principal, and the Coordinators. The student council took a pledge to handle responsibilities, face challenges, and work on their weaknesses to serve the school and uphold its motto.
The investiture ceremony instills in students, the aspirations and hopes to lead others with sincere efforts of responsibility and accountability. It teaches them that great leaders empower others. The function concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the Loyola Anthem.
