Gamharia: Mahto Tola households in Nuvagarh Panchayat under Saraikela Electricity Division (SED) are still getting their power supply through wires supported by bamboo poles. The villagers of the area have been doing the rounds of the electricity divisional office since the past six months for installation of concrete poles but their efforts have been in vain.
The Mahto Tola denizens are peeved by the lackadaisical attitude of the SED officials who have done nothing to ameliorate the dangerous problem. The district INTUC has taken the matter seriously and has decided to hold a mass demonstration in front of the SED office on November 20.
INTUC district president Lal Babu Sardar and Congress block chief Pradip Barik have stated that the executive engineer has been acquainted with the problem. It may be mentioned here that nearly 300 families are residents of Mahto Tola.
