International Odiya Conference organized at Utkal Association Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 3: The International Odiya Conference was organized at the Utkal Association on Saturday, February 3, on which occasion, at the urging of the Odisha government, the State Anthem, ‘Vande Utkal Janani’ was sung.

It may be mentioned that the three-day International Odiya Conference is being organized between February 3 and 5 at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneshwar. People and organizations from several regions of the country and beyond are participating including poets, authors, litterateurs, intellectuals and research scholars. The participants at the Conference will be honoured.

Some office bearers of the Utkal Association had been invited to the Festival at Bhubaneshwar but since arrangements for their stay had not been arranged for, they decided against attending the Conference in Odisha. Instead, the office bearers and members of the Utkal Association and Utkal Samaj of Golmuri organized the Conference at the Utkal Association in Bistupur. Vice President Badal Bhuiyan, General Secretary Tarun Mohanty, Assistant Secretary Bibhuti Mohanty and Treasurer Manish Das spoke on the occasion. Others present on the occasion included Sujata Swain, Kishore Mohanty, Dilip Pradhan, Ashok Bhuiyan, Surendra Biswal, Manoranjan, Paritosh, Sukanta and Ashok Mahanty.
