Jamshedpur: A new chapter, a new milestone will be created in Jamshedpur with the arrival of Joseph �Joe� Preston of Dewey, Arizona, USA, international First Vice President of Lions Clubs International to Jamshedpur on 18 April. He will be arriving with his wife Joni Preston also a senior Lion member. Both will be accompanied by a high-level team of senior executives of Lions Club International comprising of Lion Sangeeta Jatia, International Director, Past International Director Lion Prem Lahoty, Past International Director, Lion A P Singh, Past International Director Lion Bishnu Bajoria.
It is for the first time any International President of the Association of Lions Clubs International will be landing in Jamshedpur which is going to host the 41st Multiple District 322 Convention on 19-20 April after a gap of 13 years. The convention will be held at Tata Auditorium, XLRI in which almost one thousand Lions clubs members from whole of Eastern India and Bhutan will be attending the two days meet.
Lion Joseph Preston who comes from Bradshaw Mountain Lions Club and has been a Lion since 1974 has occupied several post and has been recognized for his service to the association including nine International
President�s Awards and an Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honour granted by the association to its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. He will be addressing the media on 18 April at Hotel Alcor where the team is going to be put up along with many District Governors team and senior leaders coming from Bhutan, West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam and whole of North East. He will be deliberating with Lions the International and National social service projects and presenting awards for distinguished services.
The two days Convention will have Women Symposium, separate schooling for Club president, secretary and treasurer, evaluation of the existing club officials and region and zone chairperson, public speaking contest. The district governors team comprising of district governor (elect), first vice district governor (elect) and second vice district governor (elect) of all the eleven Lions District will be presented before the International First Vice President of Lions Clubs International.
