Harshit Vig wins Principal’s Award at DBMS English School graduation veremony

Outgoing Class XII batch honoured at a grand ceremony in Jamshedpur as students receive awards, certificates and heartfelt farewell messages

Jamshedpur, Jan 16: D.B.M.S. English School organised the Graduation Ceremony for the outgoing batch of Class XII (2025–26) on January 15, marking the successful completion of the students’ academic journey. The ceremony was held in a dignified and celebratory atmosphere, highlighting achievements, values and future aspirations.

The programme began with an academic procession led by Principal Rajani Shekhar and Vice-Principal P.K. Sahu, followed by class and subject teachers and students of Classes XII A, B, C and D. The ceremonial lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Chithra Sharma, Chief Commercial Engineering and Projects, Tata Steel, along with Chairpersons of the School Managing Committee B. Chandrashekhar and Lalitha Chandrashekhar, committee members, and school leaders.

In her address, Principal Rajani Shekhar praised the achievements of the outgoing batch and encouraged students to uphold the values of discipline, integrity and excellence instilled by the school. Chief Guest Chithra Sharma inspired the students to strive for excellence and remain focused on their goals, while Chairperson B. Chandrashekhar motivated them to contribute positively to society.

Several prestigious awards were presented to meritorious students. Nashit Akhtar of XII B received the T.S. Ramaiah Shastrigal Shield for maximum contribution to science activities. Mayank Raj of XII A emerged as a major awardee, winning both the Special Recognition Award for Intellectual Brilliance and the Vidyavati Bahadur Memorial Trophy for General Knowledge.

The Thomas Paul Memorial Shield for Best Speaker was awarded to Richa Arvind Singh and Ania Gupta of XII D. Rumela Gupta of XII B won the M.N. Goon Memorial Trophy for Best Artist, while Richa Arvind Singh of XII D also received the Special Talent Recognition Award. The Most Disciplined Outgoing Student Award was jointly presented to Puranjay Muraraka of XII C and Siddhi Nagelia of XII D. The prestigious Principal’s Award went to Harshit Vig of XII D.

Certificates and mementos were distributed to all graduates, followed by the vote of thanks, school anthem and national anthem. The ceremony concluded with students bidding an emotional farewell to their alma mater, pledging to carry forward its values into the future.
