Installation of Dinanath Pandey’s statue at Tinplate Chowk on Saryu Roy’s initiative

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has taken the initiative to pay due respect to the popular leader, Late Dinanath Pandey who was also known affectionately as ‘Baba’ who had served as MLA on three consecutive terms from Jamshedpur East constituency of the then undivided Bihar state. The statue of Dina Baba will be installed at Tinplate Chowk in Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency. The responsibility of installing the life size statue has been given to the Yuva wing of Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha. A special meeting of the District Committee BJM Yuva Morcha Jamshedpur District Committee was held under the chairmanship of District President Amit Sharma at the Assembly office at Baridih. As per the directive of MLA Saryu Roy, a plan was chalked out to organize a procession across the city with Baba’s statue on February 14 prior to the installation ceremony at Tinplate Chowk on Tuesday, February 15.

A souvenir will be released on his death anniversary on Friday, February 11. The souvenir will include important aspects related to Dinanath Pandey’s life and times. The souvenir on Baba is aimed to make people aware of the ideals and selfless service of Dinanath Pandey to society so that the new generation can dedicate itself to people’s causes as the beloved leader had done. “A committee comprising Amit Pathak, Ashim Pathak, Billa Pathak, Sukhdev Gurung, Kailash Jha, Gurdeep Sembi and Aniket Singh has been formed for installation of the life size statue of the dynamic leader of the masses, Dinanath Pandey,” informed BJM District President Subodh Srivastav who was present in the meeting along with other party leaders Rajesh Jha, Akash Shah, Balkar Singh, Siddharth Pandey, Martin Lazarus, Kashi Pradhan and Ajay Rajak.
