Jamshedpur, Aug. 10: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur Zest celebrated International Breastfeeding Week by organising various awareness programmes at hospitals, medicals and doctor clinics . Renowned pediatrician Dr. SP Jha addressed a session for expecting mothers and mother of infants. He explained the benefits and advantages of breast feeding.
�Our aim was to highlight the importance and benefits of breastfeeding which can bring both the health and welfare of babies, as well as a wider push for maternal health, focusing on good nutrition, poverty reduction and food security,� said immediate past president Navneet Kaur. She spread awareness amongst new mothers about the benefits of breast feeding for the newborn and for the mothers.
Pamphlets on importance of Breast feeding were distributed amongst the expecting mothers and lactating women. Club president Nisha Gadia, secretary Reema Adesara ,treasurer Nikita Mehta, and editor Preeti Khara were present on the occasion.
