Jamshedpur, Aug 3: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur conducted awareness talk on the benefits of breastfeeding as part of the World Breast Feeding Week, at Beldih Gram Basti on Wednesday.
Convener PP Varsha Gandhi said, breast milk is the best food for newborn babies as it contains antibodies that aid in preventing several prevalent pediatric ailments. She also urged the ladies to maintain cleanliness and focus on health, hygiene and good nutritional food.
Club members also distributed snacks among ladies and children.
Also present were Club President Amrita Rao, Secretary Sarika Singh, Rekha Jaiswal, Vidya Tiwary and Kanak Singhal.
World Breastfeeding Week is annually celebrated from August 1 to 7 to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.
