Jamshedpur, Oct 9: The Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East has adopted Muchidih village, launching several initiatives to improve the quality of life and education in the community. The project was inaugurated by District Chairman Rashmi Gupta in the presence of dignitaries and enthusiastic villagers.

As part of the project, Aadhaar cards were issued to all villagers, and the Muchidih Government Primary School was transformed into a “Happy School.” The renovation included the repair of blocked toilets and the installation of separate Pink and Blue Toilets for girls and boys respectively, inaugurated by Mrs. Gupta.

To promote hygiene, handwashing stations were installed on both sides of the school, and a stone-chip pathway was constructed. A sick room equipped with a bed, weighing machine, height chart, and first-aid kits was set up to ensure students’ health and safety. The school also received a well-stocked library containing storybooks, puzzles, general knowledge books, and educational games.

A Poshan Baticā (nutrition garden) was developed, and new sports items, yoga mats, and branded dustbins were provided. The club also built three houses in the village, distributed branded T-shirts, and extended support to two Sakhi Mandals by distributing sarees. Elderly villagers were gifted shawls, and two dedicated teachers were felicitated with shawls and bouquets.

The inauguration event was celebrated with traditional tribal dances and songs. Guests were warmly welcomed by villagers at the entrance and escorted to the school. Students presented a welcome song, and young girls performed a traditional dance that saw cheerful participation from the District Chairman, Club President, and Secretary. The Head Teacher delivered a welcome speech, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks from the Assistant Teacher.

After the event, an Executive Committee Meeting was held to review project reports, where Mrs. Gupta appreciated the members’ contributions. This was followed by a General Body Meeting attended by senior club members, including AC Member Alakananda Bakshi and Founder Member Lata Raina. Two new members were inducted into the club, and the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice President.

Later, Mrs. Gupta visited the Happy School at UFHE, where she observed vocational training programs such as tailoring, beautician, mehendi, and computer classes. She praised the club’s efforts in empowering women and students through skill development.
