Jamshedpur, August 1: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur observed the Breast Feeding Week which began on August 1.
According to the guidelines of World Health Organisation, first week of August, i.e. 1st – 7th August is celebrated as Breast Feeding Week. The beginning of a mother-child journey starts with a simple touch, the skin-to-skin contact between them. This stimulates the breastfeeding behaviour in the baby.
Members of Club began their first awareness campaign on Tuesday, August 1 at Kasidih Basti Urban Service Community Center. Talk on the benefits of breast feeding was imparted by Varsha Gandhi and Kiran Mehta.
80 ladies and young girls attended the session and were benefitted by the talks. There wasan interactive session followed by question and answer round were several young ladies asked questions about the benefits of breast feeding.
Members present were Vice President Mamta Trehan, ISO Vinita Shah, Editor Manju Rani Singh, Committee members, Indu Bhamri, Gurdeep Marwah, Rekha Jaiswal, Archana Shekhar and Neena Jain along with other members including Alka Garg, Neelakshi Jaiswal and Malti Singh.
