Jamshedpur, January 10: Jamshedpur Women’s University organised an induction programme on January 10 for students admitted to the B.Ed, M.Ed and B.P.Ed courses for the academic session 2025–2027. The programme was held at the university campus in Bistupur and began with the traditional lighting of the lamp.

The event was attended by the University’s Dean and Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Dr Kishwar Ara, and the Coordinator of the Education Department, Dr Kamini Kumari. Addressing the newly admitted students, they highlighted the importance of continuous learning in the fields of education and sports. They encouraged students to work with confidence, maintain discipline and remain focused on achieving their academic and professional goals.

The welcome address was delivered by the Heads of Department, Dr Sanjay Bhuiyan and Dr Sajit Kumar Mahto, who introduced students to the academic environment and expectations of the courses. The programme was conducted smoothly by Assistant Professors Dr Arunima Kumari Singh and Dr Saurabh Mandal.
Students added colour to the programme by presenting cultural performances, including yoga demonstrations and aerobics dance, which were well appreciated by the audience. Dr Kavita and Gopal Chakraborty played a key role in organising and coordinating the cultural segment.
During the programme, the academic structure, curriculum and future career prospects of the B.Ed, M.Ed and B.P.Ed courses were explained in detail to the students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Tripura Jha and Dr Hemant Kumar.
Faculty members, non-teaching staff, media representatives and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
