Dhanbad: The indefinite strike called by local businessmen in Dhanbad has been withdrawn following a late-night meeting with district administration and police officials. The meeting, which took place at the Collectorate auditorium, lasted for approximately three hours and provided traders an opportunity to voice their concerns.
District Collector Varun Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar assured the business community that criminals involved in recent incidents would be brought to justice, and the district’s peace and tranquility would be maintained. The DC emphasized that the security of the traders would be a priority for the police and administration moving forward. Additionally, a commitment was made to hold monthly meetings with business organizations, improve patrolling in all areas, and enhance overall security measures.
Initially, during the meeting, the traders seemed reluctant to call off the strike. However, after receiving these assurances from officials, they reconsidered their position. Ajay Narayan Lal, General Secretary of the District Chamber of Commerce, characterized the meeting as positive, with the district administration taking strong measures to ensure the safety of traders. He mentioned that the police administration had agreed to meet the traders’ demands and pledged to provide enhanced security.
This decision to call off the strike comes after a recent shooting incident targeting a local businessman in the Bank Mod area, which had infuriated traders and led to the announcement of an indefinite strike. Eventually, with the apprehension of the criminals responsible and an agreement to bolster trader security, the indefinite strike has been successfully concluded.
In a related development, three individuals, Rihan Raja (alias Raja, Aryan Khan), Atif Ali (alias Golu), and Sahil Ansari, have provided significant revelations in connection with the shooting of businessman Deepak Aggarwal. These individuals were arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) from the Kenduadih police station area on Tuesday night. In their statements to the police, they admitted to their involvement in the crime and disclosed that they were associated with a group of friends, including Sahil and Golu, who earned their livelihood by engaging in activities like coal collection.
The accused mentioned that they were approached by Rihan Raja, who had connections with a jailed individual named Shamshad Akhtar (alias Vicky Khan), a member of the Haider Ali (alias Prince Khan) gang. Raja conveyed Vicky Khan’s request to carry out a shooting targeting Deepak Aggarwal, the owner of a shop called Car Center. In exchange for their involvement, they were promised a substantial sum of money. As per the plan, Raja would provide his motorcycle, Golu would carry out the shooting, and Sahil would drive the motorcycle. After their involvement, the accused executed the plan, with Chhotu firing the shot. The criminals then dispersed, with Golu and Raja providing the necessary cover and support.
These revelations provide crucial information for the ongoing investigation into the shooting incident.
