Jamshedpur, Dec 16: A woman from Bengal is struggling to get justice against her paramour and in-laws as even local police have turned a deaf ear to her woes.
The woman from 24 Parganas of Bengal, identified as Ambia Mandal had lodged a cases at the Telco thana against her husband Asim Khan and in-laws Rahima Bibi, Kalim Khan, Nazma, Nazim Khan and Mustaqim for seeking dowry of Rs 5 lakh.
According to the complaint lodged by Ambia Mandal, her husband assaulted her on November 29 night and out of fear of further assault she went away to her parent’s house on November 30 to get the dowry amount. But parents expressed their inability to pay the huge amount and she informed this to her husband Asim Khan. However, her husband started verbally abusing her for getting the information.
On December 2, Ambia returned to her in-laws house at Kharangajhar in Telco and was informed that her in-laws have vacated their house and thereafter lodged a complaint against her in-laws at Telco thana. But the investigating officer (IO) instead blocked her number citing that she was disturbing him.
The victim woman further informs in the complaint that their affair started over Facebook and Asim made her leave her own house and brought her to Jamshedpur where they got married in Dhatkidih under Bistupur thana and stayed in a rented house in Barinagar under Telco thana.
Now frustrated, Ambia has approached East Singhbhum SSP M. Tamilvanan for justice.
