IMD forecasts heavy fog and temperature dip in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a forecast for heavy fog in isolated areas across Jharkhand tomorrow, December 7. The weather conditions are expected to disrupt morning visibility, with the fog likely reducing visibility to below 1000 meters in certain places.

According to the IMD, the heavy fog will be most prominent in the early hours of the morning and will significantly affect transportation, especially road travel. The weathermen have cautioned commuters to take necessary precautions while traveling in areas where visibility is likely to deteriorate due to the fog.

In addition to the fog, the minimum temperature in Jharkhand is expected to witness a slight downward trend over the next 24 hours. However, the temperature is forecasted to rise again after this brief dip. Weather experts indicate that the change in temperature is part of the ongoing seasonal fluctuations typical for the region.

For the weekend, the weather department has predicted light rain on Sunday, December 8, due to the influence of a western disturbance passing through the northern parts of the country. This disturbance is expected to bring light showers to several parts of Jharkhand, further contributing to the shift in weather conditions.

As per the latest Met statistics, the capital city Ranchi recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius today, while Jamshedpur registered a slightly higher minimum temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius. Other districts also experienced a dip in temperatures, with Daltonganj in Palamu district recording 11.9 degrees Celsius and Bokaro registering 10.6 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has advised residents of Jharkhand to remain cautious about the weather conditions, particularly with respect to the fog, which could pose challenges for morning commuters. With the upcoming western disturbance bringing possible light rain, the residents of the state can expect further fluctuations in the weather as the weekend approaches.

Weather experts have urged people to stay updated on the changing weather patterns and be prepared for temporary disruptions in daily activities due to the fog and the possibility of rain.
