Image of Jharkhand has changed in last 20 months: CM

Ranchi, Sept. 16: Chief Minister Raghubar Das here on Friday said the image of the state had changed in the last 20 months.

People of the state want fast development and in the next four years, we have to fill in the developmental gap, he said during a meeting with ministers and senior bureaucrats on Budget 2017-18.

Das said the government has to formulate a development policy for the next 15 years. Apart from that, they have to make three-year and seven-year plan and implement them. Ministers of all departments should sit with the team of officers and make the blueprint.

This year, the government targets to present the budget in January. This year too, the government will discuss people�s requirements with them and include their suggestions in the budget. Departments should prepare for the schemes from now and should also start making DPR.

More than 29 per cent of the funds have been expended in the present budget. He asked the departments to speed up spending of funds allocated in the last budget.

The CM said that in the next budget, the government will try to increase BPL family income. Hence stepwise work should be done in this regard and people should be connected with small businesses.

Gram Sabha meeting will start on 2nd October and the CM along with ministers and officers will move to villages and participate in the Gram Sabha. BDOs will be trained about the schemes of villages.

The current year budget was also reviewed in the meeting. PDS Minister Saryu Rai, Urban Development Minister C. P. Singh, Education Minister Neeera Yadav, Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh, Water Resource Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary, Health Minister Ram Chandra Chandravanshi, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal, all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries were present in the meeting.
