Illegal liquor factory busted in Rajnagar, three arrested

Task force seizes 2200 litre illicit foreign liquor; nine accused at large

Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan police busted an illegal liquor factory in Rankadkocha village under Rajnagar police station area on Saturday. A joint team of excise department and district police arrested three persons in this connection. Nine accused managed to flee the scene, police said.
The accused persons were identified as Abhishek Sahu, Ajay Mahato and Ukil Hansda, all residents of Rankadkocha. According to Chandan Kumar Sinha, SP, Seraikela-Kharsawan, the accused persons were running a mini factory for manufacturing foreign liquor in Rankadkocha. The mobile task force set up to crack down on illegal distilleries busted the mini factory on the basis of a tip-off. The team seized drums containing 2000 litre of foreign liquor, 2200 litre spirit and 23 cartons of foreign liquor. Emptly bottles, wrappers with logo of Jharkhand government, carons and caps were also confiscated, said the SP.
Those who succeeded in evading arrest were identified as Arvind Sahu, chief manager of the factory, Sanjay Sharma, Masan Baskey, ganesh Baskey, Tunu Hansda, Deepak Sahu, Bhado Murmu, Basko Mardi and Vishwanath Mardi.
The SP said the 2200 litre of spirit could be used to prepare 15,000 bottles of liquor. He said the task force members would be rewarded for the arrests and recovery of illicit liquor.
