Jamshedpur, July 18: The excise department has unearthed an illegal liquor factory in Dalma foothills on Tuesday morning.
Under the leadership of product department officer Nirbhay Kumar Sinha, a mini factory of illegal foreign liquor was busted in a raid campaign in Khadiya Basti of Kathjod under Chilgu Panchayat of Chandil police station area. During the raid, foreign liquor brands was recovered in 31 packets.
Along with this, cork, lid and label sticker of these brands were also recovered. Empty bottles of different brands have also been found in the raid.

In a raid on a house in Khadiya Basti, the excise department has seized various types of materials used for making spurious liquor.
Product department official Nirbhay Kumar Sinha told that two persons have been arrested during the raid. At the same time, two people running the illegal factory of spurious liquor are absconding. He told that the two people arrested include Kanhai Singh, a resident of Kathjod under Chandil police station area and Motilal Singh, a resident of Pathardih under Neemdih police station area. He told that the operation of the illegal liquor factory was done by Dheeraj Singh, a resident of Mango Basti, and Kalia Gope, a resident of Chilgu. At present, both are said to be absconding. He told that further action is being taken by registering a case in this regard.
The spurious liquor factory was busted on July 14 inside a boundary wall under the Dalma forest near Birigoda under Chandil police station area.
On the instructions of Kolhan’s DIG Ajay Linda, the raid was conducted by a special team along with the Product Department, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Chandil and the then station in-charge.
