Jamshedpur: In the run-up to President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Karandih on December 29, the district administration has initiated an encroachment removal drive. Illegal roadside encroachments between Karandih Chowk, Prasad Hotel, and Khasmahal in Parsudih will be demolished on December 22.
The Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum has directed the Circle Officer of Jamshedpur block to take necessary action. A magistrate has also been deputed to ensure the anti-encroachment drive is conducted peacefully and lawfully.
The district administration is making announcements through loudspeakers to give prior notice to encroachers, so that they can remove the encroachment themselves, and there is no need for any harsh action.
The President is scheduled to arrive in Karandih, Jamshedpur, on December 29, and the campaign is being conducted to ensure security and smooth traffic flow for the President’s program.
Roads and sidewalks near Karandih Chowk, extending to the Jamshedpur Block Office, Parsudih Police Station, Sadar Hospital, Prasad Hotel, and Khasmahal, have been encroached upon by shopkeepers and temporary structures. This is causing traffic disruption and inconvenience to the public.
Encroachments were removed from this same route a few months ago, but were subsequently illegally occupied again. This time, the district administration has warned that legal action will be taken against those who reoccupy the land after the encroachments are removed. The administration has appealed for cooperation from the general public and shopkeepers, so that the campaign can be completed peacefully.
