Jamshedpur, June 20: Bablu Jha, District Vice President of the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee, has raised serious concerns over the unchecked construction of an unauthorized multi-storey building in Baridih Basti, Jamshedpur. Despite being sealed five times by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), the owner, Sitaram Agarwal of Shriram Tower on Road No. 1, Mithila Colony, Hari Maidan, has persistently flouted regulations by breaking the seals.

Expressing dismay, Bablu Jha highlighted the ongoing construction activities, citing a blatant disregard for law and order. He criticized administrative officials for their alleged inaction, pointing out that despite efforts to remove encroachments elsewhere, this particular structure continues to expand without repercussions. The building, spanning six floors, lacks essential facilities such as parking arrangements and an approved site plan, posing significant safety risks including an improperly placed electricity pole inside the premises.
Residents of Baridih Basti have voiced their frustration, citing regular accidents and traffic jams exacerbated by the unauthorized construction. Despite multiple complaints lodged at the Sidhgora Police Station and with the Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum, no effective measures have been taken, prompting accusations of systemic neglect and possible corruption within the JNAC.
In a plea for intervention, Bablu Jha urged District Deputy Commissioner and SDO officials to take decisive action, including the demolition of the illegal structure, to restore order and ensure public safety in Baridih Basti.
Efforts to reach Sitaram Agarwal or JNAC officials for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting, underscoring the urgency of addressing these ongoing concerns.
