Jamshedpur: A delegation comprising members of International Human Rights Association (IHRA) met state labour minister Raj Paliwar in Ranchi on Wednesday. They praised the minister for the initiatives taken by his department to improve the condition of labourers in the state.
The outfit members handed over a memorandum to the minister demanding measures to resolve the issues pertaining to workers’ welfare in Jamshedpur. The minister assured the delegation members of taking the necessary steps as soon as possible. IHRA district president Ashutosh Singh said a conference on human rights and legal rights will be organized in Jamshedpur in October this year. He invited the labour minister to attend the conference as chief guest.
Among those present at the meeting included Jitendra Kumar, Purnanand Rai, Swarup Rai, Shiv Shankar Singh and Chanchal Kumar.
