IGNOU Regional Director Champions Distance Learning at DBMS College Of Education

Jamshedpur: Educational flexibility took center stage at DBMS College of Education on February 10, as Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) held a comprehensive awareness drive to bridge the gap between employment and higher studies.

The session, led by Dr. Motiram, Additional Director of the IGNOU Regional Centre in Ranchi, targeted B.Ed students and working professionals looking to navigate the challenges of financial constraints and rigid academic schedules. Dr. Motiram characterized the institution as a global leader in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) model, emphasizing that “distance” is no longer a barrier to top-tier specialization in the education sector.

Coordinated by Dr. Tripura Jha of Jamshedpur Women’s University, the event moved beyond standard institutional briefings by featuring testimonials from current IGNOU postgraduate students. These learners highlighted the practical application of the university’s career-oriented curriculum in the modern job market.

The college leadership, including President Dr. B. Chandrashekhar and Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, joined faculty members in exploring how the ODL mode can supplement traditional B.Ed training. The program concluded with a focus on the diverse range of certifications available to educators who wish to pursue advanced degrees without pausing their professional careers.
