Jamshedpur, Dec 22: Dhalbhumgarh police on Tuesday nabbed a husband for murdering his wife along with help of his lover at Chatro village under Jugishole panchayat in Ghatshila block.
The police have sent the body of the murdered woman for autopsy to Ghatshila sub-divisional hospital and lodged a case of murder on the basis of statement given by deceased woman daughter, Sangeeta Nandini Murmu.
According to reports, Jitendra Nath Murmu, a rural postman had married two woman Poma Murmu and Madho Murmu and later during his job he developed affair with a widowed woman Malti Soren which continued for nearly two years. His second wife, Madho Murmu started objecting to it and this led to frequent quarrels between them and Jitendra decided to eliminate Madho with help of his lover.
On Sunday night, Jitendra called Malti Soren to his house and hid her in his courtyard and when all went to sleep after dinner, Jitendra along with Malti and both murdered Madho with an axe. Hearing their mother shrieks their children rushed her to a village doctor but she died on the way and in the morning when Malti Soren was trying to escape she was noticed by the children and they raised an alarm and villagers caught hold of her and handed over both Jitendra and Malti to the police.
