Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar visited multiple villages across Jamshedpur and Potka blocks on Monday to mark Amar Veer Shahid Hul Diwas. The lawmaker paid rich tributes to the heroes of the Hul rebellion, including Sidu-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and brave women Phulo-Jhano.
Offering his “Hul Johar”, the MLA stated that the battle cry raised from Bhognadih on June 30, 1855, wrote a new history of resistance against institutional exploitation and injustice.
“Our brave ancestors sacrificed everything to protect our ‘Jal, Jangal, Jameen’ (water, forest, land), language, culture, and identity,” MLA Sanjeev Sardar stated. “They never bowed down before an oppressive regime. Hul Diwas inspires us to safeguard our rights, self-respect, and cultural heritage.”
Sardar participated in mass Hul Diwas programs organized at Kinudih village and the Koketola Panchayat Bhawan premises in Ranidih village. He paid floral tributes to the martyrs and reminded the large gathering of villagers, public representatives, and social workers that the Hul movement remains a historic crusade for tribal dignity.
The MLA toured Dholadih and Bansla village under Gwalkata Panchayat to lead memorial services. He also attended a blood donation camp organized by the Sidu-Kanhu Sopohod Sawta Club in Chhota Talsa as the chief guest. He later visited the Bunudih football ground in Harina Panchayat for a one-day tournament hosted by the S.K.U.G. Club.
