Jamshedpur, October 7, 2023: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised Inter JDC Basketball Tournament between October 4 to 7 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Jayanta Sinha, Head Engineering Services, Tata Steel graced the occasion as Chief Guest with Ajay Chowdhury, Assistant Secretary, Tata Workers’ Union as Guest of Honor during the prize distribution ceremony.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 22 Units of Tata Steel. More than 288 participants showcased their talent in this year’s competition.
In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship, HRM emerged as the winner, whereas Engineering Services bagged the runner’s up position while A-F Blast Furnace emerged as the 2nd runner’s up in this tournament.
To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the tournament benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials including T Vasudev Rao, Rakesh Mahato, Ravi Rao, Sneha Kumari, Subodh Kumar, Mohan Kumar, Arif, Jalal, Shubham, Manish, Azhar and Anjali performed their roles admirably with an observer, Sanjay Pandey from Tata Workers’ Union.
Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce was evident throughout the tournament. The event provided an excellent platform for employees to showcase their talent in badminton and foster a healthy competitive spirit.
