Horrific gang rape incident shakes Ranchi: Minor victim seeks justice

Ranchi: In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Ranchi, a minor girl visiting from Khunti to meet a friend has become the victim of a brutal gang rape. The appalling crime unfolded in the Tupudana OP area of the district, where the accused not only abducted the minor but subjected her to a night of heinous acts.

The Tupudana OP police were alerted to the incident on Sunday and have swiftly taken action. The minor victim has undergone a medical examination, and an FIR has been filed based on her statement. The police are actively pursuing the case, utilizing CCTV footage to identify and locate the perpetrators.

According to the victim’s account to the police, she had come to Ranchi from Khunti to meet her lover. However, on Saturday night, an altercation with her lover led her to leave his house and venture onto the streets. Exploiting her vulnerable state, three youths on a bike abducted her near the church gate near Hulhundu in the Tupudana police station area around 9 pm.

The perpetrators then transported her to the Chukru forest in a desolate Kishki village in Kharsidag. There, they joined five other youths who were already consuming alcohol. Subsequently, the victim endured a night of horrific gang rape. As her condition deteriorated, the assailants dropped her near Dasmile Chowk around midnight.
In a courageous effort, the girl managed to reach the Tupudana police station at 1:30 in the night with the help of an auto driver. She bravely recounted the entire traumatic incident to the police, who are now intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspects. The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with demands for swift justice and increased measures to ensure the safety of women and minors in the region.
