No hope for crestfallen state government: Arjun Munda

Jamshedpur: Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda today said the BJP did not want to topple the Hemant Soren government. He said the government had already lost the trust of the people of the state and hence there was no need to help its collapse.

The people are seeing it all by themselves as to how responsible it is to them. The government has lost its credentials by failing to live up to the expectations of the people. Therefore its collapse will be automatic and for sure, said Munda.

Munda arrived in the city on Saturday after his return from Varanasi where he was busy campaigning for BJPs prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He paid a brief visit to party office at Sakchi.

Speaking to scribes on the prospects of the state government led by Hemant Soren, Munda said, There is total chaos in the state. There are some MLAs who call the government corrupt while there are some who resign over dispute arising from contracts. There are ministers who go to the extent of challenging the decision of the governor in the court. All this speaks volumes of the disorderly situation in the state.

Munda said the party will formulate strategy on the future of the state, its development and direction after counting of votes on 16th May. He alleged that Congress party had made Jharkhand a corridor for the smuggling of iron ores. The Central investigation agencies too, know of the goings-on in the state. But they are keeping mum due to political compulsions, he said.

Speaking about BJPs winning prospects, Munda said Modis victory was inevitable. It is going to be a historic victory of Narendra Modi in Varanasi. The people of Varanasi will not only elect their MP but also the Prime Minister for the country, he said.

The former CM met party candidate from Jamshedpur Parliamentary seat Vidyut Varan Mahato, Laxman Tudu and other party leaders in the city.
