Jamshedpur, April 2: Holy Thursday was marked with solemn ceremonies at St. Joseph’s Church, Golmuri, and St. George’s Church, Bistupur. At St. Joseph’s, the Bishop washed the feet of 12 disciples, as well as those of women, children, youth, and the elderly, conveying Lord Jesus’ message of service and humility. The ritual concluded with Holy Communion for the devotees.

At St. George’s Church, Father Jayaraj, supported by church members, washed disciples’ feet and served a communal meal. Devotees also participated in collective prayers, reflecting on the significance of selfless service.
The 40-day Lent period will conclude on Good Friday, April 3, with the ‘Way of the Cross’ procession and prayer services beginning at 3:30 PM. Easter will be celebrated on April 5, with the Easter Vigil and Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Church on the night of April 4, featuring the Blessing of Fire and lighting of the Easter Candle.
