Jamshedpur: Hill Top School got its own Atal Tinkering Lab on Monday. The lab will let students explore skills of future such as design and computational thinking, adaptive learning and artificial intelligence and will help encourage innovation skills and develop ideas .
The ATL lab was inaugurated by A. B. Lall, Head, Manufacturing CVBU, Tata Motors.
Addressed the gathering, AB Lall encouraged the concept of innovative thinking to make students of all ages real time innovators.
The purpose behind setting up ATL lab is to empower students with creativity by undertaking projects at school.
In all, the inauguration comprised an invocation to Goddesses Durga and Saraswati, presentations on Hill Top’s journey to tinkering and a song ‘Reaching for the skies’.
Atal Tinkering Lab will enable to create a problem solving, innovative mind set within students. Atal Tinkering Lab will bring India a step closer to the mission of creating One Million Neoteric Child Innovators in India by 2020.
ATL is a workshop space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode and learn innovation skills. The objective being to foster curiosity, creativity & imagination in students and inculcate skills such as design mind set, computational thinking , adaptive learning, physical computing , rapid calculations, measurements etc.
Students will get a chance to work with tools & equipment to understand what, how & why aspects of STEM (Science , technology, engineering & Maths).
