Hill Top beat DPS by 2-0 as RFYS football gets more competitive

Jamshedpur, Nov 7: The competition appears to be getting stiffer with low-scoring matches dominating the senior boys’ league round of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Tuesday. The only big win of the day came when Netaji Subhas Public School downed Central Public School 3-0.

Dugu Soren put Netaji Subhas ahead in the 31st minute after initial resilience by CPS held them back for a good part of the first half. Teammate Rajesh Bera scored six minutes later to make the score line 2-0. Sonu Tudu then kicked in another in the 59th minute to complete Netaji Subhas’ domination.

In another senior boys’ league match at Tinplate Sports Complex, ?Bharat Sevashram Sangh’s (BSS) Pranav High School edged past Dakshina Bharatha Mahila Samaj (DBMS) Career Academy English School 1-0. Nelson Biswas’ 11th minute strike was the only goal scored in the match.

At same venue, Hill Top School defeated DPS by a margin of 2-0 with Sudhanshu Das and Nehal Sharma scoring for the winning team in the 25th and 61st minutes respectively.

Vig English School played out a 1-1 draw with Gulmohar High School in another senior boys’ league round at the Armoury Ground. Although Gulmohar took the lead first when Avinash Verma scored in the 29th minute, they couldn’t hold on to it. Deepak Samada scored the much-needed equaliser for Vig English School in the 35th minute.

In another closely fought match at the same venue, Rajendra Vidyalaya and Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) too played out a 1-1 draw. Sanchit Kumar put KSMS ahead in the 14th minute and they managed to cling on to the lead till the early part of the second half. But Vaibahv pulled Rajendra Vidyalaya level in the 42nd minute.
