Congress leaders burn effigies of PM, Shah and Jaitley at Shahid Chowk
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district Congress committee members burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at Shahid Chowk, Sakchi, on Tuesday to mark the completion of one year of demonetization.
Leading the agitation, district Congress OBC cell president Surendra Sharma said the Central government had failed to yield the results promised during demonetization. He said the problems related to corruption and black money still persist in the Indian economy. He said demonetization had changed nothing and that it had only harassed the people of the country.
Also present on the occasion, state Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu said the demonetization decision taken by the Central government was a blunder that had cost the Indians their peace of mind. He said the demonetization had failed to end corruption and bring black money back into the country.
Among those present during the agitation included Dhanpat Pandey, Reeta Gupta, Kamlesh Sao, Rohit Sharma, Raju Sharma, Danish, Raja, Bunty, Amit, Roshan and Raj Kishore Prasad.
