Tributes paid to tribal icon Birsa Munda
Jamshedpur, November 15: Tributes was paid to revered tribal icon Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary in the East Singhbhum districts.
Various programs were organized by political and social organizations at many places.
Health minister Banna Gupta, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai and deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri paid homage to Lord Birsa Munda by garlanding and offering flowers at the statue of Birsa Munda located in Birsanagar.
They also congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Jharkhand State Foundation Day.
On this occasion, Banna Gupta said that Birsa Munda who fought against the British can never be forgotten. The way the British were uprooted between 1897 and 1900 was unprecedented and historic.
“Even today we all salute and worship the courage of Lord Birsa Munda and the divine power within him. We are moving towards making a prosperous and healthy Jharkhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren,” said Gupta.
Manjunath Bhajantri said that it is the effort of the district administration that all the schemes of the state government should be made available to the people and follow the ideals of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Baharagora MLA Sameer Kumar Mohanty paid homage to the statue of Lord Birsa installed at Birsa Chowk of Nagar Panchayat by garlanding it.
Nagar Panchayat administrator Chandan Kumar and other senior administrative officials were present on the occasion.
