Ranchi, Nov 28: Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand for his second consecutive term during a grand ceremony at Morhabadi Ground, Ranchi, on Thursday. Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Soren, marking the beginning of his Government 2.0. The event witnessed a massive turnout and the presence of prominent leaders from across the INDI Alliance, drawing attention to the coalition’s show of strength and solidarity.

The ceremony was graced by several key figures, including Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin. Other notable attendees included Bihar Congress MP Pappu Yadav, CPI(ML) leader Dipankar Bhattacharya, RJD Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and AAP MPs Raghav Chaddha and Sanjay Singh.

The stage symbolized a collective INDI Alliance as leaders from diverse political backgrounds rallied behind Soren. Addressing the gathering, they highlighted the unity within the alliance and expressed optimism about Jharkhand’s progress under Soren’s leadership.

Interestingly, only Hemant Soren took the oath during the ceremony, with no other members inducted into the cabinet. Sources indicate that the cabinet expansion will follow soon, with deliberations ongoing to finalize the team.

This marks the commencement of Soren’s second tenure as Chief Minister, promising continuity and stability in Jharkhand’s governance. His first term witnessed significant developments, and expectations are high for his renewed leadership.
