Hemant Soren summons contempt case hearing on July 12

Ranchi, June 22: On Saturday, the Jharkhand High Court heard a petition seeking quashing of the case going on in the MP-MLA court in the summons contempt case by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The court’s cognizance order in the case has been challenged. During the hearing today, Hemant Soren sought time from the court. The court accepted his request and fixed the next hearing of the case on July 12. The court has also directed the ED to file a reply in the case.

During the hearing today, Hemant Soren said that no ED summons have been disobeyed. He had sent the reply of the time for the ED summons in which he did not appear. After this, the summons issued lapsed. Even after this, when ED sent summons again, he appeared.

Hemant Soren told the court that ED was repeatedly sending messages motivated by malice. After today’s hearing, the court has also directed ED to file a reply in the matter.
