Ranchi, June 27: Hemant Soren and other accused, who are in jail in the land scam case, appeared in PMLA court in Ranchi. The judicial custody of all has been extended for 14 days. Now all the accused will be produced on July 11.
Those who appeared in the court included suspended revenue staff Bhanu Pratap Prasad, JMM leader Antu Tirkey, Mohd. Saddam, Mohd. Afsar Ali, Vipin Singh, former chief minister Hemant Soren and many others.
It is worth noting that on the night of January 31, ED arrested Hemant Soren in the land scam case.
A few days ago, Hemant Soren had filed a bail plea in the Jharkhand High Court. The court has reserved its decision in this case. Hemant Soren’s lawyer Kapil Sibal had said during the hearing that ED has no basis to arrest Hemant Soren. His client is being framed due to political motivation. The investigating agency has no concrete evidence against him. On the other hand, ED’s lawyer strongly opposed his bail plea. He said that Hemant Soren is an influential person. If he is granted bail, he can influence the investigation.
