Jamshedpur: In a spirited display of oratory prowess, the ASISC Zonal Level Debate Competition for the senior category was held on June 26, 2024, at the R.V.S. Academy auditorium on Dimna Road, Mango. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing nearly 25 schools across Jamshedpur.

The debate topic, “Should Animal Testing for Scientific and Commercial Purposes Be Banned?” was disclosed to the participants one hour prior to the competition, providing them ample time to prepare their arguments.
The event was inaugurated by the Chairman of R.V.S. Academy, Mr. Binda Singh, and attended by Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Vice Principal Mrs. Anita Tiwari, teachers, and students from various schools. Esteemed educationist Mrs. Jhumjhumi Nandi, Principal of Jusco School Kadma, moderated the competition.

A distinguished panel of judges comprising Mrs. Babin Sarkar, Mrs. K. Shaheen, and Mr. Shivam Srivastava evaluated the debaters’ performances. The judges commended the participants’ exceptional oratory and expressive skills. Mr. Binda Singh lauded the students’ impressive self-confidence and disciplined behavior, expressing optimism that such competitions would elevate the school’s prestige. Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra echoed these sentiments, highlighting the contestants’ extensive subject knowledge and articulate presentations. She expressed gratitude to the school management for their support in organizing the event.

The winners of the competition were:
- Best Speaker for the Motion: Lakshita Choudhary from Loyola School
- Best Speaker Against the Motion: Krishna Suhani from Carmel Jr. College
- Overall Winners: Debadrita Haldar & Krishna Suhani from Carmel Jr. College
- Runners-Up: Aishi Singh & Arushi Sinha from Sacred Heart Convent School
- Second Runners-Up: Abhinav Kumar & Aarushi Kar from Narbheram Hansraj English School
The event was marked by high-caliber debate and provided a platform for young orators to showcase their talents, promising a bright future for the participants.
