Hemant Government completes 3 years in office on Dec 29: Gifts galore for farmers, 25 lakh students to get scholarships

All party MLA’s delegation meet protesting students, Hemant assures of solution 

Ranchi, December 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that his government will provide Rs 1,200 crore as a gift to the beneficiaries of various government schemes on December 29, the day when the current government completes three years. 

While addressing a meeting at the assembly, the CM added that it has been decided by the state government that 10 lakh landless and drought-affected farmer families will get the benefit of drought relief amount. Apart from this, the scholarship amount will be given to 25 lakh students studying in schools under the pre-matric scholarship scheme. 

Moreover, benefits and the benefit of assistance amount will be provided to 5,60,000 girls covered by Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana and the amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts through DBT.

“Our government is working to give rights to the people belonging to all sections of the state. Ever since the formation of the state, our government has resolved to solve all the problems of the people of Jharkhand,” the CM said.

 “Necessary preparations should definitely be completed by December 26, 2022, so that on December 29, 2022, there is no hindrance in the transfer of funds through DBT by the State Government by pressing the button and the amount is immediately transferred to the beneficiaries’ account,” the CM directed.

On the directive of Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren a multi-party delegation met the agitating students protesting near the Jharkhand Assembly on Wednesday in the wake of the High Court quashing state’s recruitment policy.

The delegation comprising Ajsu MLA Lambodar Mahato, Congress MLA Deepika Pandey, JMM MLA Sudivya Kumar, RJD MLA and labour minister Satyanand Bhokta and CPIML MLA Vinod Singh met over 2,000 aspirants who had come to protest outside the Jharkhand Assembly during the third-day of the ongoing winter session.

The MLAs agreed with the demands of the students and assured to convey their demands before the chief minister and claimed that a solution would be found to their problem soon and requested them to withdraw their protest.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said in the assembly that it is the effort of the government that 100 percent jobs in 3rd and 4th grade should be given to natives and tribals.

“We are committed people towards the 3.25 crore people of the state. The opposition has damaged the root of Jharkhand. Outsiders came in the previous government as teachers, who had no knowledge of culture, no knowledge of language. Students are protesting. As soon as the news came that the recruitment policy has been cancelled by the High Court. We are worried about their future. In any case, the government will move forward on this path, what can be the better way according to law, constitutionally. Whatever the youth of this state wants, the government will move forward in the same way. Will come to a decision very soon,” said Soren.

Amidst protest by the opposition BJP over local recruitment policy and a walkout by BJP lawmaker the Jharkhand assembly passed the second supplementary budget of Rs 8,533 crore which was presented on Tuesday by finance minister Rameshwar Oraon.

The House passed the supplementary budget by voice vote.
