DC stresses importance of enforcing traffic rules, action against triple riders, silencer modification

Jamshedpur, May 15: The review meeting on road safety in the district was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, who gave strict instructions against those who break traffic rules. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of wearing helmets for both drivers and pillion riders, and directed that the driving license of anyone caught without a helmet should be canceled immediately. She also emphasized the need for counseling along with fines for habitual offenders.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to put up signage and boards at all black spots in the district, and to clean the radium on them so that they are clearly visible at night. She also instructed the excise department to ensure that liquor is not sold illegally in line hotels and dhabas, and directed the District Education Superintendent to conduct regular awareness campaigns in schools and colleges regarding traffic rules.

The municipal bodies were directed to take strict action against illegal parking and road encroachment, and the DSP Traffic and Bus-Auto Association were instructed to ensure that buses and autos stop at designated stops only. The Deputy Commissioner stated that clean and encroachment free roads will help maintain a smooth traffic system and prevent road accidents. Representatives from various concerned departments were present in the meeting, including the District Transport Officer, DSP Traffic, District Public Relations Officer, and representatives from NHAI, Jusco, and Tata Motors.
