Ranchi, August 18: Jharkhand is set to experience heavy rainfall as the month of Sawan concludes, with the Meteorological Department issuing a warning for 14 districts on August 19 and 20. The forecast indicates intense rain in parts of the south-western and adjacent central regions of the state.
An orange alert has been declared for the districts of Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum, and Khunti, where heavy rain is expected. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for Ranchi, Lohardaga, Latehar, Chatra, Garhwa, Palamu, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Seraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum, with potential heavy rainfall anticipated in these areas as well.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted that the rainfall could continue across the state until August 24.
