Heat wave replaced by �Modi wave� at JRD Tata Sports Complex

: The JRD Sports Complex, venue of the concluding ceremony of �Gramodaya Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan� at Jamshedpur, was packed with panchayat delegates from across the country much before the scheduled time.

More than 3,000 panchayati raj representatives from across the country took their seats around 1.00 p.m. to attend this conference. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the venue at 3.15 p.m. and left at 4.45 p.m. in the evening.

Delegates from Punjab, Sikkim, Manipur, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Bihar, Jharkhand and other states of the country assembled in the city. There was a festive atmosphere at the venue and as PM Modi came on the stage the whole stadium erupted with slogans of �Modi Modi�. The extreme hot conditions couldn�t dampen the spirits as the whole stadium was jam packed with perfect arrangement of water to beat the heat.

The campaign �Gramoday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan� launched by the Union Government in collaboration with state governments and panchayats on occasion of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar�s 125th birth anniversary on April 16, 2016 aimed at strengthening the panchayati raj system. The Prime Minister�s address was beamed to all the 2, 58,000 gram sabhas of the nation.

All technical arrangements for live broadcast and telecast of PM�s program were made by AIR and Doordarshan officials. In all, 26 big screens were installed in the JRD Sports Complex by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Jharkhand, to enable people to comfortably hear the Prime Minister and the Jharkhand Chief Minister.

To beat the heat, local administration made all necessary arrangements. Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum Amitabh Kaushal along with his team camped continuously at JRD Sports Complex to monitor arrangements such as water pouch distributions and other requirements.

SSP, Jamshedepur, Anoop T. Mathew monitored the security arrangements. Special Protection Group (SPG) commandoes took care of the entire venue and large number of security personals was deployed at different check- points.

To ensure proper coverage in the national and local media, a modest media center with broadband connectivity, latest transmission facilities, news collection and transmission centers with two dozen of computer sets and sitting arrangement for over 50 people was functional.

Moreover, booklets, leaflets, brochures etc. were provided at the media center to disseminate matters related with Jharkhand.
