Jamshedpur, Sep 21: Health Minister Banna Gupta conducted a thorough inspection of the new 751-bed hospital being constructed within the MGM Medical College campus on Saturday.

Accompanied by key officials, including the district’s Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon, the minister reviewed the progress of the construction, examining each ward. During the visit, some deficiencies were noted, prompting the minister to issue directives for immediate rectification.

The hospital will feature 100 CCU beds, 131 ICU beds, and 620 general beds, along with a Cath lab.

Minister Gupta revealed that an additional ₹5 crore has been allocated for essential improvements such as electrical wiring, deep boring, and road construction.

Construction on the project began in 2020 and has progressed rapidly despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hospital is expected to be fully operational in the coming months, providing vital healthcare services to the residents of Jamshedpur.
