HC stays transfer of clerks, seeks reply from Jharkhand govt

Jamshedpur, Aug 2: Jharkhand High Court has stayed the transfer of 71 clerks posted in the high schools of East Singhbhum. It has sought a reply from the state government in this connection, sources said.

Sources said the state education department had issued a notification on 31st July last regarding the transfer of 41 high school clerks posted at the same place for the last three years. The clerks were asked to join their new offices by 7th August.

District Education Officer Shivendra Kumar had said the entire process was transparent and that the clerks were given a chance to opt for the schools. Later, the clerks challenged the transfer orders in the High Court, saying that the rules were not followed in the process.
