HC rejects Jamshedpur gangster Akhilesh Singh’s bail petition

Jamshedpur, August 3: The bail petition of gangster Akhilesh Singh an accused in the murder of JMM leader and transporter from Bagbera Upendra Kumar Singh was rejected by the Jharkhand High Court Justice R. Mukhopadhyay.

After the rejection of bail petition, the accused bail petiton was withdrawn by the legal counsell of the gangster. 

Incidentally, after the bail petition was rejected in Jamshedpur district court the legal counsel had applied for bail in Jharkhand High Court. 

Akhilesh Singh is currently in Dumka jail and is an accused in the murder case which took place inside the Jamshedpur bar association building premises on November 30, 2016 wherein Upender Singh was shot dead by Akhilesh Singh’s men Vinod Singh and Sonu Singh. Both the accused were caught by the mob and recovered the pistol and they were arrested by the Sitaramdera police and were given three years jail under Arms Act by the Jamshepdur court on July 27, 2021. 

Apart from Akhilesh Singh, other accused include Harish Singh, Jasbir Singh, Sanjay Jojo, Vinod Singh and Sonu including 10 others. 

Akhilesh Singh was caught by Jamshedpur police from Gurugram in 2017 October.
