Jamshedpur, Dec 2: Speaking during a public meeting organized jointly by Jharkhand Aam Mazdoor Union and JUSCO Shramik Union at the Sakchi Netaji Subhas Maidan (formerly Ambagan Maidan), Congress candidate from Jamshedpur West constituency Banna Gupta said, I have been fighting for the cause and uplift of the people of the lower socio economic segment and will continue doing so until the divide (between rich and poor) is ameliorated. My struggle is for the poor bread earners like rickshaw pullers, pushcart vendors or footpath sellers. My fight will continue.

Also present on the occasion was the Jamshedpur East Vidhan Sabha constituency Congress candidate Prof Dr Gaurav Ballabh attacked the BJP government and dubbed it as anti labor. He stated, A laborer is paid Rs 300 a day. How can a bread earner comply with the medical, educational and food necessities with such meager pay? They rely more on luck under a dark sky. These people have to seek medical attention from the ESI Hospital in far flung Adityapur. If I am elected I will ensure the construction of an ESI in Jamshedpur East. My other important point will be to ensure minimum wages of workers @ Rs 21, 000. Moreover, I will also fight for six days a week working days and payment of even days.
