Jamshedpur: XLRI Jamshedpur will host the 32nd Annual JRD Tata Oration on Business Ethics today, November 22, at the Tata Auditorium.
This year’s oration will be delivered by Harish Bhat, advisor and director at the Tata Group. He will speak on “Doing the Right Thing – The Legacy of Ratan Tata.”
Known for his insightful perspectives on business integrity and leadership, Bhat’s address is highly anticipated by the academic and corporate communities.
The Annual JRD Tata Oration on Business Ethics, named after the visionary industrialist and former chairman of Tata Group, JRD Tata, has been a flagship event of XLRI for over three decades. It seeks to uphold and propagate the principles of ethical business conduct, aligning with XLRI’s mission to shape leaders who embody values-driven decision-making.
Bhat, who has been with the Tata Group for 37 years, has held key roles such as Brand Custodian at Tata Sons, CEO of Tata Global Beverages, and COO of Titan’s watches and jewelry businesses. Currently, he serves as an advisor and director on boards of companies like Trent, Infiniti Retail (Croma), and Tata Starbucks.
Renowned for his marketing expertise, Bhat has contributed to the growth of iconic brands like Titan, Tanishq, Fastrack, and Tata Tea. Forbes recognized him as one of the world’s top 10 most influential Chief Marketing Officers in 2022 and 2023.
A graduate of BITS Pilani and IIM Ahmedabad, Bhat’s illustrious career also includes spearheading strategic initiatives such as the Tetley Tea acquisition and Titan’s business turnaround.
