Harijan High School Jamshedpur secures top honours at Science Fest 2024

Jamshedpur: In a celebration of scientific prowess and innovation, Baharagora Polytechnic hosted the Dhalbhum sub-division level science exhibition, Science Fest-2024, at Hindustan Mitra Mandal School, Sidgora. Drawing participation from over 50 plus two and 220 high schools in the Dhalbhum sub-division, the event showcased a myriad of science-related projects created by students.

The inaugural ceremony, graced by esteemed guests including District Education DEO Nirmala Kumari, Dr. Mohammad Riyaz (Special Guest, Principal Karim City College), Dr. Kanay Barik (HOD Physics Department Ghatshila College), Akhilesh Kumar (Additional Programming Officer, Jamshedpur), Dr. Bina Kumari (Principal NML, Jamshedpur), and Dr. S. Of. Mishra (Principal of Baharagora Polytechnic), set the stage for an intellectually stimulating event.

Following a comprehensive evaluation of the science projects by the distinguished delegation, five schools were recognized for their outstanding contributions. Harijan High School, Bhalubasa, secured the first position, receiving a prize of Rs 10,000. The second position was claimed by District CM School of Excellence, Burmamines, awarded Rs 5,000. U.P.G. High School, Kokradih, clinched the third position with a prize of Rs 3,000, while Shri Ram Krishna High School, Bistupur, and Sarvodaya High School secured the fourth and fifth positions, receiving Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively, along with mementos.

Certificates were presented to all the participating students, acknowledging their commitment to scientific exploration and learning.

Addressing the school representatives, the guests commended the students’ efforts and emphasized the importance of organizing such events for the intellectual and physical development of students. They lauded Baharagora Polytechnic for its commendable initiative in organizing the science exhibition.

Baharagora Polytechnic’s Principal, Dr. S. Of. Mishra, and Vice Chancellor Anurag Kumar Jha expressed their commitment to organizing such events regularly. They highlighted the role of these events in enhancing the placement and job opportunities for students, showcasing the institution’s dedication to fostering a holistic educational experience.
