Ranchi, June 1: Wanted hardcore Maoists of the CPI (Maoist) Ishwar Dayal Mahto was arrested in a joint operation by police and CRPF from Bundu Police Station area in Ranchi on Monday.
The security forces have also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition including bomb-making instruments from the Naxal.
Mahto set afire a truck during May 26 Jharkhand bandh at NH-33 and thrashed the helper in Tamar area, said, Ranchi SSP Prabhat Kumar talking to the media persons.
A country made pistol, huge cache of arms and ammunition including bomb-making instruments, mobile, photo album, Air gun, American made gun, was recovered from the possession of Naxal, said SSP Kumar.
SSP further said that Mahto is also member of Chandan Patar Munda group.
Police are also attempting to nab other members of the outfit.
In the joint operation Rural SP Rajkumar Lakda, Bundu DSP Ramsarek Rai, Assistant Commandant Anshuman Kumar, Bundu Inspector Rakesh Kumar, Tamar Police Station officer Sanchman Tamang along with district and CRPF jawans were part of the team.
